The Jinshui Lake Forum was held in Jinshan District on Tuesday, with the theme of "Innovation pioneering and linking the ecochain of display with IC."

Agreements on four projects in the sector were signed at the forum, with expected annual output of 1.8 billion yuan (US$276.92 million).

Jinshan is making efforts to develop new-generation information technology in the new display industry and the suburban district has become a base for new display industry in Shanghai with Everdisplay Optronics as a flagship.

Everdisplay Optronics opened a 27.3-billion yuan (US$4.0 billion) AMOLED (active-matrix organic light emitting diode) display plant in July 2018 that boasts Shanghai's biggest industrial clean room to make screens for smartphones and virtual reality devices.

The monthly capacity at the 390,000-square-meter plant, featuring an industrial clean room of 320,000 square meters, is designed to hit 30,000 units once operations are in full swing. The plant supports flexible display, representing the most advanced display technology on the Chinese mainland.

AMOLED screens are widely used in smartphones, TVs, laptops, tablets, wearable and VR devices, and the market demand is booming.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Global Amoled EcoChain Summit was also held at Holiday Inn Shanghai Jinshan.
