Contractual foreign investment in Jinshan up despite pandemic

Contractual foreign investment in Jinshan District in the first seven months of the year reached US$304.82 million, up 4.8 percent over the same period last year, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From January to June, actual foreign investment reached US$204.16 million, soaring 29.4 percent year-on-year. Income of the service industry in the suburban district jumped 32.6 percent to 7.89 billion yuan.

In the first seven months of 2021, the output of industrial enterprises in Jinshan was 132.36 billion yuan (US$20.36 billion), increasing 19.2 percent from the same time last year. Commercial unit sales in the district jumped 34 percent to 55.82 billion yuan. And fixed asset investment rose by 15.8 percent to 18.67 billion yuan.

The district's fiscal income rose 14.1 percent to 39.52 billion yuan, and tax income increased by 14.9 percent to 38.04 billion yuan. However, fiscal income and tax income haven't yet reached pre-pandemic levels.
