Jinshan commission issues first work permit for foreigners

Aug 13, 2021

A Canadian teacher from Shanghai Maple Leaf International School recently obtained a type-A work permit for foreigners issued by the Jinshan District Science and Technology Commission.

It is the first work permit of its kind issued by the commission since it was given the right to approve work permits for foreigners on August 1.

Now the suburban district is allowed to examine all applications involving long-term and short-term work permits for foreigners without waiting for the final online decision by the Municipal Foreign Expert Administration.

The district had received 26 applications for foreigners' work permits, issued six permits and offered consultation service to 96 people one week after August 1.

Officials said the new policy will further encourage and support firms in the district to actively introduce in foreign talent and optimize the investment environment.
