The Caojing Shuike Scenic Area has a planned total area of 37.46 square kilometers and aims to become an ecological nourishing suburban park in southern Shanghai. It will integrate functions such as water-based cultural tourism, science education, creative learning, health and wellness, and ecological sightseeing agriculture.

Shuiku Village is the pilot area of the Caojing Shuike Scenic Area and the core region of the Caojing Countryside Park, covering an area of 3.66 square kilometers. Known historically as "Shuikuli" due to its dense and crisscrossing water network, the village has 41 rivers of various sizes, totaling approximately 23 kilometers in length, with a water surface ratio nearing 40%. The widest part reaches 110 meters, resembling a large lake. The village features over 70 independent and semi-independent islands, creating a landscape of "islands within rivers, lakes within islands." The main river's water quality consistently maintains a Class III or above. In 2018, it was selected as one of the city's first nine pilot villages for rural revitalization. Popular spots include Lotus Park, Cool Island Dream Camp, Treehouse, and Shangpin Academy.
